STATEMENT FROM JEFF REETZ, CANDIDATE FOR 3RD CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT, ON HUMANA LAYOFFS
(Louisville) “Like many Louisvillians I am deeply saddened of the news that Humana will be shedding more than 1,400 jobs and my hearts and prayers go out to those affected by this decision.”
“I would also like to apologize to those affected for the actions that Congressman Yarmuth has helped create through his repeated actions to create a Nationalized Health Care system. I am amazed that Yarmuth will cozy up to Nancy Pelosi in advocating a system that will cripple the Health Care industry and yet will come back to Louisville and express his desire to “protect” companies like Humana.”
“I am a firm believer that Patients, not the government, need to exercise more control over their health plan. Decisions about care should be between a patient and their doctor, not a board of bureaucrats determining what the most cost effective treatment should be.”
“The bottom line is we need a Congressman that puts Louisville First, and not someone who talks out of both sides of his mouth. People’s jobs and livelihoods are at stake because of the decisions being made in Washington.”
