JEFF REETZ TO CHALLENGE JOHN YARMUTH IN KENTUCKY’s 3rd DISTRICT
GOP businessman, job-creator & Louisville community leader running for Congress
LOUISVILLE, KY – GOP congressional candidate Jeffrey T. Reetz released the following statement to declare his candidacy:
“Over the past 3 years, I have become increasingly concerned with the leadership of our country, including our Congressional Representative in the 3rd District. After long discussions with family and friends over the issues facing our community, I made the decision to run for Congress. As such, I filed paperwork last week with the Federal Election Commission establishing a campaign committee to run for the 3rd Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.”
“I was raised in a middle-class family, built a successful business that not only provides jobs to hundreds of Kentuckians but also serves thousands of families yearly with a wholesome and nourishing staple, and have served our community’s less fortunate through various charitable activities. But with double digit unemployment; entire local industries at risk; our national deficit at a record high; and our troops still at war; I can no longer sit on the sidelines and I know more needs to be done to protect our community.”
“Once in Congress, I will leverage my background and common-sense to create good-paying jobs, fight every step of the way for Louisville families and seniors, and for the small businesses that form the backbone of our economy. Using my experience in the private sector, I will work nonstop towards ensuring that solutions to our problems are enacted. I will not give you excuses for what can’t be done but instead will give you real results that benefit every resident in the 3rd District.”
“As a husband, father and grandfather, I am running to leave our children with a brighter future. For the first time in my life, I am concerned that their future is in doubt as a result of the bitter partisanship that permeates Washington and the same-old big government approach taken by too many in Congress. There have been too many empty promises and poor decisions made by our representative. Some of these decisions have resulted in benefits being shared by folks representing their own self interests and not the fine people of Louisville.”
“I will move quickly to organize a strong grassroots campaign behind which all residents in the 3rd District can unite. In the coming weeks I will be putting together the foundation of this campaign which will make Louisvillians proud.”
